Absolutely delightful to drive -  All done right and fully sorted.   She turns heads everywhere and runs as good as she looks.

Bare metal repaint - Glasurit enamel in Porsche Polo Red

All body panels blocked and sanded, just a shot glass of bondo.  Very clean and straight.

Rebuilt 1720cc 616/36 engine by Jerry at Northwest Aircooled including:

            Shasta pistons & cylinders / Like new STD/STD crank

“no smog port” heads head re-worked – no cracks – flowed and cc’ed

8 new valves, springs, seats & guides

Rods bushed, balanced, polished, & relieved w/ ARP hardware

Skirmants “medium street” cam & drive gear / Lightweight oil cooler

031 distributor rebuilt by Don Marx, w/ custom advance curve tuned for this engine, plus 050 spare

Weber 40 IDF-70-3V carbs, 32 mm venturis, updated coupler & linkage, K&N “big” filters w/ velocity stacks

Sachs clutch, throwout bearing, fork bushings, etc.

6-block engine mount from ’69 912 / All new rubber engine & trans mounts

Rebuilt generator and starter by Autolectrics of Campbell, CA

All fuel lines front & rear renewed with BMW high pressure line

All shrouds and tin repainted with Wurth paint, gloss black, and Wurth hardware

Updated front suspension, including new bushings & ball joints

            Bilstein shocks on 911SC struts w/ “big brake” kit: 3½” brake calipers & vented 282mm disks

            19mm sway bar (later bottom mount type w/ no drop link)

            alloy front crossmember, 930 steering rack, turbo tie rods, bump steer spacers

Rebuilt rear brake calipers, new rear swing plate bushings, rear wheel bearings and parking brake shoes

New halfshaft assemblies – CV joints, boots, and mouting hardware from the CSP kit

Replaced front pan and tank support  / Updated battery box

Gel cell battery with electrical cutoff / updated front and rear grounds

4 ATS cookie cutter wheels, 6 X 15, painted Wurth silver (Mercedes), new alloy lug nuts / 4 new Bridgestone RE952 in 195/65

Lightweight alloy spare wheel (space saver type from Porsche 928)

Complete factory tool kit (reproduction, includes tire guage, fan belt, fuses, etc)

Bosch H4 headlights, 55/60 bulbs / Cibie 35 fog lights, w/ covers

Floor pans in good shape, primed & painted.  Longitudinals and jack points excellent - 3 point belts secured thru floorpan

911S type oil press / temp guage w/ double VDO sending unit

180mph speedo overhauled by PA speedometer / Working quartz clock

High back seats from 911SC – new black leather upholstery, Weltmeister adapter kit.

New carpets, interior trim, dash top / bottom (not cap), RS type door panels

Momo Prototipo steering wheel & Porsche horn button

New pedals (3) and bushings renewed w/ Weltmeister bronze kit

Complete shift bushing overhaul on late model shifter, Momo knob / New coupler bushings

New 1st / reverse cluster in trans, plus new front / rear seals

Heater works perfectly, no smells, NO oil leaks from engine or trans

 

Babe runs and drives like a new car!   She has 100s of hours of careful setup and maintenance.  No car is perfect but Babe is one of the nicest 912s around.  Totally reliable - starts instantly, drive anywhere.   I have about 22K in her.  If that seems high, try doing a project like this !
